It’s the doctors’ job to save lives and it’s not always what you might want to hear that a life has been saved and/or extended. Two such a case from last week is of a pharmacist, Joachim Tuchscherer who lost the battle against a rare form of cancer.

Enamored with his career and a patients’ need, Joachim Tuchscherer decided to become a pharmacist.

The man is now buried with his wife and son by his side in Eberswalde. It was his dream to be buried with his wife and child.

Born in 1968 in Schillingsbrunn in the Munich district of Ammersee, Tuchscherer graduated from the university with degrees in Pharmacy and Biology.

In the year 1991, Tuchscherer completed his bachelor of science and became a pharmacist in 1994. After two years of working for a public healthcare company he decided to start his own pharmacy in the small village of Schillingsbrunn.

He worked for his own pharmacy until the year 2001 when he closed it down and became a partner in a pharmacists office.

The year 2006 was a turning point for Tuchscherer. He decided to join the Federal Association of Pharmacists and enrolled in the pharmacists course.

In the year 2012, Tuchscherer earned the degree of pharmacist.

With his wife, Carina, he has three children; Ruprecht, Klaus, and Markus.

The late Joachim Tuchscherer died of cancer on July 9 at the age of 44.

Joachim Tuchscherer did not work as a pharmacist at that time he worked as a storekeeper for a pharmacy selling medication for animals. Later on when he realized that there is also medication for human beings, he decided to sell medications in his own pharmacy.

More than 1000 people attended the service at the Wilhelm-Gries-Kirche in Schillingsbrunn.

The funeral will take place at the Ehligsdorf Cemetery in Eberswalde at 10am on July 13.Q:
